While it is true that you should be cautious before entering a relationship, being too rigid might not be the right thing to do either. If you keep an open mind, you might just like someone who is different from what you imagined. Most of us have certain mindsets about how we want our soulmates to be. However, there is a difference between knowing what you want, and being inflexible.

          If you adopt too narrow an approach, you risk not meeting anyone that you like. Do you only want someone who is tall? Or someone who is only of a certain age? The same applies to their education, their income, or their job. Also, it is not imperative that the two of you share interests. Of course, it is nice to do things together as a couple. But you don’t have to do everything that your partner likes. You don’t have to do something you hate, just to keep your partner happy.

          Keep your mind open when you tell your friends to hook you up with someone. You and your friends can’t tell if you like her, unless you meet her. If the chemistry between the two of you is missing, so be it. At least, you would have the satisfaction of making an honest effort to meet someone.
