Choosing the right partner for marriage is not easy. Have you decided to say “I do” to the one you love? Do you feel that you are ready to take the big step? Perhaps, there are a few more things you should think about before taking the plunge.
Do you have any unresolved differences with her? It is important to not say angry things about your partner to those around you. If you and your partner have recurring issues, it is best to resolve them before going through with the marriage. Take the help of a counselor, if required. Don't look to your family to find solutions for you.
Religion is an important issue in a marriage. Are you two of different religions? Then you should work out where you will worship. What religion do you want to raise your children in? These are issues which can cause problems later on. The best way is to talk it out before marriage.
Have you thought about your finances? What kind of lifestyles do both of you expect to have? Are your expectations different from hers? Do the two of you have different family backgrounds? Both of you should be honest to each other about your realistic expectations.
Finally, think about your own life. Are you marrying her just to gain an identity for yourself? Or do you have a life of your own which includes friends, interests, work etc.? If you are totally dependent on her for all your needs, it is not a healthy sign. You need to get a life of your own before marrying someone.
